Gerindra Sebut Kebijakan Pangan Jokowi Mengabaikan Undang-Undang
Pojok Pos. Deputy General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Edhy Prabowo said that President Joko Widodo was proven to be implementing policies that contradicted laws, especially in the food and agriculture sectors.
Edhy said that the management of the sector was not in accordance with the law because several related ministries did not carry out export-import in accordance with applicable regulations.
"The imports made so far are not through recommendations or coordination with the technical ministers involved in the law," Edhy said in a discussion entitled 'Farmers, Fishermen & People's Economy' at Sriwijaya House, South Jakarta, Wednesday (1/16) )
Edhy then took the example of food imports, especially rice imports some time ago. According to him, in his explanation the Ministry of Agriculture said there was an increase in rice data.
For example, said Edhy, in January 2018 rice data from Ministry of Agriculture showed 2,668,764 tons, then in February 5,388,600 tons, March 7,441,842 tons, and April 5,283,498 tons.
"But the data was ignored by other ministries which actually did import rice. That is, the imports made so far were not through recommendations or coordination with the relevant technical ministers," he said.
In addition, Edhy also considers that the government is currently not serious about managing various food related issues, as evidenced by the absence of special Food Institutions, even though it has been regulated in Article 126 of Law Number 18 of 2012 concerning Food.
In the article, it was stated the mandate to form a government institution that handles the food sector and is responsible directly to the President.
"The president and his instruments in the government seem slow in forming food institutions, even though the basic tasks and functions of this institution are very necessary for the continuity of food in the country," he said.
He also believes that food sovereignty is slow to materialize in Indonesia because there is no inter-ministerial coordination involved when implementing a policy.
Therefore, he said, in his vision and mission Prabowo-Sandi ensured that every institution in his government would coordinate as well as possible.
"Fix the subordinates, they must coordinate with each other. One should not say surplus, but the others issue import permits," he said.
